Meet Penelope. She started seeing a chiropractor to treat the back pain that started during her pregnancy—pain which left her in tears. Now that her back pain has been treated, she truly gets to enjoy being a new mom.
“I initially sought out a chiropractor after I had my baby. During my pregnancy, especially in my last trimester, I experienced immense back pain that made it very difficult to function. My job required me to sit for hours at a desk in front of my computer, and this didn’t help my issue. It was so bad, my husband would help me get out of bed and I would be screaming and in tears.
After I had my baby, my back pain subsided but did not go away. And just when I thought it would get easier, my upper back and shoulders began to ache from constantly nursing my baby. Needless to say, my GP recommended I see a chiropractor. I was apprehensive but it was the best decision I ever made. It was nothing like I thought it was going to be. My first visit was very thorough with many questions. I was asked for details about my back pain before, during, and after pregnancy. No chiropractic adjustments were made. The chiropractor made me feel very comfortable which helped us get to know one another and resulted in her getting a deep understanding of my back pain history.
My later visits provided a great deal of relief to my back and shoulders. Luckily, my chiropractor had also been a nursing mom so she knew exactly which spots on my back and shoulders to adjust. I would leave her office feeling like I could fly! The relief was amazing and very quick. She also showed me certain stretches and made recommendations to alleviate pain while I was nursing. When you consider the long, sleepless nights and all the chaos with a newborn, back pain is the last thing you can take. Seeking help from my chiropractor allowed me to enjoy every minute of being a new mom!”
